“I am my mama’s baby and I look good AF in a diaper,” says Da Baby without any trace of irony. “I do whatever and still be myself.” The Cleveland-born Charlotte-based rapper wore Hilfiger for his visit to MASS APPEAL HQ, but he made headlines in 2017 when he showed up to SXSW in some Pampers. “They were lined up cross the street to take pictures,” says Da Baby who got out of the streets and started his rap career as Baby Jesus in 2014, making a mark with his 2016 mixtape ‘God’s Work: Resurrected’ and followed up last year with ‘Baby Talk 2.’ His basic strategy is “I take like five, six of the hottest songs out, and I embarrass your favorite rapper.” Check out the latest episode of Open Space right now.
