Texans CJ Stroud credits his career to Snoop Dogg plus shares his biggest struggles growing up on “Cold As Balls”.

We share today’s newest episode of “Cold As Balls” from LOL Network starring Texans QB CJ Stroud.

The Rookie of the Year shares that he wouldn’t be where he is today without Snoop Dogg and his league, the SYFL.

He then shares a pivotal point in his life when he had to mature quickly – after his dad was incarcerated.

Another coach in the SYFL took him under his wing and kept him on the right path.

Later in the episode, Stroud openly admits that the Texans franchise was bad leading up to him joining the team, and DeMeco signing on as the head coach.

He also tells Kevin he is inspired by Cam Newton, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Fields, and more in how they play the sport, but are also still themselves on and off the field.

Some highlights from the episode include:

  • Stroud shares his experience starting his career in Snoop Dogg’s football league, the SYFL. He says, “[Snoop] really does love helping his community. And growing up in that league, man it was a lot of people who are going through similar issues at home… Honestly I would never be here without him.” (4:50 – 5:51)
  • Stroud shares a pivotal point in his life – where his father was incarcerated and he had to mature very quickly. He had to make some grown man decisions, but he thanks another one of his coaches from the SYFL league for taking him in and pointing him in the right direction (5:52 – 6:33)
  • CJ dishes on his connection with DeMeco Ryans, and Ryans’ commitment to turning the team around. Stroud admits, “We’ve been bad a couple years.” Kevin then joked, “A couple years??? It’s been a shit show.” (6:35 – 7:12)
  • CJ praises the brotherhood from other Black QBs including Cam Newton, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, and Justin Fields – and how they inspired him to play the sport as well as be himself (7:15 – 8:02)
  • Stroud states that the biggest shift from college to pro are the lengthy play calls (8:04 – 8:30)

New episodes will air Tuesdays on the Laugh Out Loud YouTube channel, as well as Hart’s Instagram page.
