Charlamagne opens up about his feud with Elliot Wilson, as well as his new book “Get Honest or Die Lying“, the inspiration behind it and honoring 50 Cent.

He also talks about his admiration for Steph Curry as a top 5 player and praises Charles Barkley for his loyalty to Turner despite his offers from other networks.

I mean no reason whatsoever. He gave some crazy reason. He said, I’m all about…promoting my company. I didn’t understand the logic and so we talked about that and so when the Complex list came out this year, it wasn’t even a return shot. I just saw it and I’m like, I don’t think he should be number five. It’s like we’re sitting around talking about rap or basketball or anything. I just don’t think he should be number five.”

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “Back in February, I was on an ayahuasca retreat and it was the first time I did it. It was a three day retreat and it was the second night and literally it just came to me like, yo, stop lying to yourself and stop volunteering those lies to other people because I feel like that’s what we all do in some way, shape or form. We wake up every day and we feel like we got to perform. We feel like we got to put this mask on or we got to image to uphold or our reputation to uphold but how many of us are really just taking that mask off and just showing up being our true authentic selves? That’s what I challenge myself to do every day. I want to show up as my true, authentic self every single day and so when that revelation came to me, that’s when I came up with ‘Get Honest or Die Lying’ – paying homage to 50 Cent…”

MELO: “Greatest shooter I’ve ever seen and he’s a hell of a player. He is a great player. Best shooter, best point guard. He’s the greatest. He’s one of the greatest players– greatest at this game and I don’t think we probably will ever see this again so we better let’s appreciate this window of what we have with Steph [Curry].”

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “I got Steph in my top five…my top five is Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Brian, and Magic Johnson. That’s in order.”

That’s real shit what he did because I know the numbers that are being thrown at Barkley. I know the conversation that’s being had about Barkley. Those Stephen A. numbers are official. All those numbers are real…It’s loyalty.”
