California woman Sherri Papini has been awarded Donkey Of The Day for faking her own kidnapping.

Back in November 2, 2016, Northern California woman Sherri Papini went missing.

Papini went missing as a result of her being kidnapped.

The only problem with this situation is it never happened.

Adding to the problem is the fact Papini kept the scam going by stealing more than $300,000 in Social Security disability income, assistance from the California Victim Compensation Board, and through a GoFundMe campaign.

Making matters worse, Papini falsely claimed that she had been kidnapped at gunpoint by two Hispanic women, who supposedly tortured and branded her for 22 days.

In consequence of her lies, Papini was sentenced to 18 months in prison as well as three years of supervised probation when she comes home and must pay $309,000 in restitution.
