California judge Jeffrey Ferguson has been awarded Donkey Of The Day for shooting and killing his wife.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Malcolm Ferguson is the subject of today's Donkey Of The Day.

What started as a drunken argument between Ferguson and his wife, Sheryl, ended with her death after he shot her once at their Anaheim Hills home.

Ferguson then followed up with a text to his court clerk and bailiff stating that "I just lost it. I just shot my wife. I won't be in tomorrow. I will be in custody. I'm so sorry."

It's worth mentioning that cops were able to find 47 weapons, which includes rifles, shotguns, and handguns as well as more than 26,000 rounds of ammunition with a legally registered .22 rifle still missing.

Ferguson has since been charged with one count of felony murder as well as personal discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury and death and personal use of a firearm plus has since posted $1 million bond.
