San Francisco has a new “Permit Patty” — but in a now-viral video, the tables were turned when a black bystander began recording her.
In a video posted by SF resident Derrick Perryman, a white woman is seen standing with her cell phone to her ear as an Asian woman sells her wares. When the woman sees that he’s recording, she waves at him.
“Hi!” Perryman responds. “We have another Permit Betty here. Let’s get her viral also.”
“Sorry guys, I have to ask for permits,” the woman, still holding her phone, tells Perryman and the camera.
“Yep, she sure does,” he retorted. “She’s gotta mess with people who are just trying to make a living.”
The woman makes a remark about people needing “to be able to walk on the sidewalks” as Perryman laughs.
“Let’s let her go viral, ladies and gentleman,” he tells viewers. “There she goes.”
“Let’s figure out what company she’s with,” Perryman continued — and at that, the woman walked briskly away into the crowd.
