After securing millions of streams, BigXthaPlug kicks off 2023 with new single “Primetime”.
Backed by his infectious energy and a flow that’s full of braggadocio, BigX “feels like a young Deion Sanders” in his latest effort.
The former athlete-turned-rapper takes on a new persona as Primetime X, reflecting on the good, the bad and the ugly parts of his rise to fame.
“Primetime” builds on the momentum of BigX’s critically-acclaimed single, “Texas”, released at the tail end of 2022.
The track, which is named after Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, is an anthemic score that instills a hopeful, winning spirit.
Plus, it includes BigX’s signature Texas drawl as he raps over an uptempo instrumental that feels as triumphant as it sounds.
On the new track, BigX explains:
“I released ‘Feeling like Dennis’ a year ago, and at the time I felt just like Dennis Rodman when he first joined the league. He had something to prove, something to show the world, and that’s the place I was at with my music. ‘Primetime’ has a similar concept. Just like Deion ‘Primetime’ Sanders, I’m in my prime, and it’s time to create an everlasting legacy.”
