Aramark nas been awarded Donkey Of The Day for serving chicken, waffles, and watermelon at Nyack Middle School for Black History Month.

By now, Black people (that have any kind of awareness about themselves) know that this kind of thing always happens on Black History Month for obvious reasons.

On the first day of Black History Month, Aramark thought it was a good idea to serve chicken, waffles, and watermelon at Nyack Middle School in Upstate New York.

Sixth grader Honore Santiago’s mother let her daughter know that “You should feel very happy that you spoke up.”

Can’t be mad at that.

In response, Honore said “Yeah, I am. I just hope that they won’t do it again, at a different school or my school ever again.”

Honore continued “I was questioning because they don’t usually give watermelon.”

Wilbur Aldridge, regional director of the Nyack NAACP, stated “If they had served chicken and waffles by itself, I don’t know that we would be having this conversation. But the moment you add in the watermelon, that changed the whole complexion, literally.”

Aramark eventually apologized in the following statement “While our menu was not intended as a cultural meal, we acknowledge that the timing was inappropriate, and our team should have been more thoughtful in its service.”

At this point, an apology isn’t enough as Aramark did something like this back in 2018 when barbecued ribs, collard greens, cornbread, Kool-Aid and watermelon-flavored water were served at New York University during Black History Month.

Honore finished “I thought they learned from their last mistake, but I guess not.”

Looks like Aramark will be getting another reminder in the form of a well-deserved Donkey Of The Day from Charlamagne Tha God.

You can give what Charlamagne had to say on this situation a listen below…
