American Airlines has been awarded Donkey Of The Day for refusing to reimburse man that lost his $26K prosthetic leg.
It seems like American Airlines can never dodge the negative press that continues to follow them.
With that in mind, they have been dealing with more negative press concerning a disabled man.
Back in 2020, a St. Louis man named Michael Williams was flying from Indianapolis to Charlotte on his way back home.
After touching down in The Lou, Williams was waiting for his luggage only to find out that would never come.
Williams had this to say, “You can’t do this to somebody that’s disabled. Just say, ‘Hey, we lost something of yours, but we’re not going to pay for it.’”
Craziness, ain’t it??? 🤔
Williams adds, “The special-made leg, I put it in my suitcase. I put the sticker on it that says “fragile. I gave it to the young lady at American Airlines when I was checking in. When I get to St. Louis airport, they roll me downstairs to baggage claim. I’m sitting there waiting for my luggage to come off, and never comes off.”
After some back and forth, American Airlines would only reimburse Williams with a check worth a little more than $600.
Williams elaborated, “When I spoke with the young lady that was handling the claim, she told me this was to cover the clothes that you lost. I was like, ‘Ok, fine, great.’”
When Williams asked American Airlines about reimbursing him for his lost prosthetic leg, this was their response: “We don’t have enough proof or evidence to pay for the leg, so we’re not going to pay for the leg.”
Is that, right??? 🤔
There’s more but we’ll let Charlamagne Tha God take over from here…
