Below The Heavens was released in 2007, on a small underground label. Blu had been unheard of, until he dropped this LP, which thrust him into stardom and help land him a spot on the ‘09 XXL Freshman Cover, alongside Kid Cudi, Wale, Curren$y and others.
Widely hailed as an underground classic, Below The Heavens was seen as flawless, with Exlie doing all of the beats (and rapping on ending track “I Am…“) and Blu dropping vintage flows, and even had a guest appearance from an at the time relatively unheard of Miguel. It was just the old school sound with a new school twist that fans were looking for.
