Next Tuesday, November 5th, experimental rap duo Latyrx will release ‘The Second Album‘, their first release since 1998’s ‘Muzzaper’s Mixes‘ EP. The renowned experimental hip-hop duo, made up of MCs Lyrics Born & Lateef The Truth Speaker, grew from the Bay Area’s Solesides collective of the 1990s, which also included DJ Shadow & future members of Blackalicious. While the two emcees have both achieved considerable solo success, ‘The Second Album‘ marks the duo’s first full-length album release since the critically-acclaimed, 1997 release ‘The Album‘. The release features appearances from members of tUnE-yArDs, Anticon, Living Colour, & The Decemberists as well as Busdriver, Forrest Day, & 1-O.A.K. The project will be released on Latyrx’s own Latyramid label.

Following yesterday’s kickoff of the first leg of “The Second Album World Tour” with rap duo Skins & Needles, Latyrx has partnered with Pitchfork Advance to give fans a chance to stream ‘The Second Album‘ in full.
