Aaron Eckhart & Devon Sawa To Star In Upcoming Movie, “Thieves Highway”

Aaron Eckhart, Devon Sawa, and director Jesse V. Johnson unite on upcoming crime thriller, “Thieves Highway”, scripted by Travis Mills for producer Corey Large.

Aaron Eckhart (“The Dark Knight”, “Midway”, “Sully”), Devon Sawa (“Final Destination”, “Now & Then”, “Casper”), and director Jesse V. Johnson (“Chief of Station”, “Avengement“) unite to bring screenwriter Travis Mills’ crime thriller “Thieves Highway” to life.

Corey Large (“One Ranger”) is producing through his 308 Enterprises banner.

Executive producers are Kirk Shaw (“The Hurt Locker”, “Papa Hemingway in Cuba”, “Extraction”), Jordan Nott (“Assassination”, “Cold DeckI”), and Jon Keeyes (“White Elephant”).

BondIt Media Capital and Pink 308 will finance the production.

Red Sea Media will be handling international sales and will debut the film for buyers at the Marché du Film in Cannes.

Eckhart plays an Oklahoma Stock Detective in over his head in the “Breaking Bad” world of modern cattle rustling.

Eckhart and Johnson previously collaborated on Vertical’s “Chief of Station” which is currently in theaters and streaming.

Ex-stuntman, Johnson (“Avengement”, “Debt Collectors“, “Boudica: Queens of War”), who has built a solid reputation and a loyal following for hand-crafted character driven action films, says, “’Thieves Highway’ is a passion project, for Aaron and me. Upcoming productions include “Assassination” directed by the acclaimed Barry Levinson (United Artist’s Oscar winning “Rain Man”, New Line Cinema’s “Wag The Dog”, Buena Vista Pictures’ “Good Morning Vietnam”) and an Award winning cast including Academy Award-winner Al Pacino (“The Irishman“, “The Devil’s Advocate”), and BAFTA winning Shia LaBeouf (“Megalopolis”, “Honey Boy”), and the recently announced action thriller “Razor’s Edge” starring James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones set for a June 2024 shoot.

Aaron Eckhart is best known to global audiences for his portrayal of Harry Dent in Warner Bros.’ “The Dark Knight”.

Eckhart has worked with top directors and actors in such films as: Lionsgate’s “Midway” directed by Roland Emmerich; Warner Bros.’ “Sully” directed by Clint Eastwood; Fox Searchlight’s “Thank You For Smoking” directed by Jason Reitman, Focus’ “London Has Fallen” and “Olympus Has Fallen” with Gerard Butler, Angela Bassett, and Morgan Freeman; and Universal’s “Erin Brokovich” directed by Steven Soderbergh starring Julia Roberts.

Eckhart’s TV credits include his portrayal of President Gerald Ford on Showtime’s “The First Lady” with Michelle Pfeiffer playing Betty Ford; and his adding his voice to the character of Cary in AMC+ animated series “Pantheon”.

Devon Sawa first gained notoriety in the title role in Universal’s “Casper”.

He went on to appear in New Line Cinema’s “Now & Then” with Christina Ricci and Thora Birch, Warner Bros.’ “Little Giants” opposite Rick Moranis, and Warner Bros.’ “Wild America” with Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

In his early twenties, Devon sought out edgier movies such as Sony’s “Idle Hands” co-starring Seth Green and Jessica Alba, Sony Classics’ “SLC Punk” opposite Jason Segel and Annabeth Gish, New Line’s “Final Destination” with Ali Larter, Screen Gems’ “Slackers” opposite Jason Segel and Jason Schwartzman, and playing ‘Stan’ in the acclaimed video for Eminem’s hit song of the same name, directed by Dr. Dre.

Sawa’s other film credits include Paramount Pictures’ “Extreme Ops” with Rufus Sewell, “The Fanatic” with John Travolta, and Lionsgate’s “Escape Plan: The Extractors” opposite Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista.

His television credits include recurring roles in Syfy’s “Chucky”, and CW’s “Nikita”, and the lead in Showtime’s “Robin of Locksley”.
