After moving to the West Coast, L hit the scene with high gear winning multiple notable emcee battles where he was accepted as a ranked contestant for the “MTV MC Battle” in New York. After once again relocating to Seattle, WA after high-school, iLL Chris aligned himself to the then still unrecognized music scene in the Northwest with his “King Of Seattle Battle” win which was hosted by “106 & Park” champion Jin.

With cameos in Mackelmore’s “Thrift Shop” video & “Coolin With The Coolest” featuring Sir Michael Rocks, iLL Chris is easily identifiable by five words “AHH HE GOT THE VELCROS“. With highly publicized mixtapes & EPs such as the ‘iLL Chris Project‘ & his most recent ‘Bolo Tape‘ (which received over 45K downloads on AudioMack & close to 10K purchases on iTunes.
