Unemployment Rate @ An All-Time Low Since 2008

WASHINGTON (AURN/AP) – The new jobs report for January shows the best unemployment rate since before the financial crisis, ticking down a tenth to 4.9%. U.S. employers added 151,000 jobs in January, fewer than expected.

Black unemployment remains in the single digits, but up from 8.3 to 8.8%.

Meantime, U.S. manufacturing is shrinking, corporate profits are declining and goods are piling up on warehouse shelves. Those trends have elevated concern that a U.S. recession may loom in the next year or two.
