From the album ¨My Will¨ 1997
Prod. by Nesto; co-prod. by Laze E Laze
Teflon, unofficial member of the Mash Out Posse, drops it heavy on this one, for definate.
Featured on the ’96 release ‘Firing Squad’ (MOP’s best and one of my favourite LP’s) Teflon wasn’t the breakthrough his Album ‘My Will’ had the potential to be. But the thing that troubles me is that he was – Home label Relativity Records, who had contracts with the likes of Common, Fat Joe, Three 6 Mafia, The Beatnuts and MOP, were infamous for there inability to market and promote properly, which explains completely why this classic album remains greatly overlooked.
I won’t go to deep on this review but a brief overview will give you an idea:
The production on the album is very tight, and it compliments Teflon’s gimey voice and sharp flow. He is not all thug, however being closley associated with the Firing Squad he was never going to be soft. This album outshines any MOP effort in almost every way. This is a must for any rap fan, hardcore or otherwise, just as Illmatic and Paid in Full were and are. –Philip Lewis, Amazon review
