R&B singer, Elle Varner, is known for keeping her hair curly and voluminous, but she finds the topic of hair quite daunting.

“Yeah, the whole natural thing, it gets a little tiring. I just like to talk about music. I never thought I would be a ‘hair person’, but now it’s like ‘your hair, your hair.’ Everybody takes it so seriously, hair.

“And if you do come out with natural hair, you get put in a category like earthy, afrocentric, or neo-soul. Why can’t I have curly hair? Why does it have to be all these little things?”
