Here's Some Info About Bessie Coleman, The First African-American/Native American Pilot

Bessie Coleman was a trailblazer!!! A Black/Native woman flying a plane caused quite a stir back in 1921 when she sailed home from Paris where she had just obtained her aviation license, making her the first woman of African-American & Native American descent to do so.

Coleman did amazing things in the pilot seat and after more training in Europe became a daring stunt pilot. Sadly, she died during preparations for an airshow when her plane plummeted to the ground & she was thrown from her seat.
