Franko Fraize is an unassuming guy from Thetford who just happens to be one of the most exciting and original talents in UK music. His music doesn’t describe ghetto dramas, punctuated with guns and faux glamour; the raconteur delivers sharp, witty tales of life that are so well observed they resonate instantly with a generation. Franko Fraize brings a fresh, modern picture of British life and culture. He speaks in a direct way with stories for the everyday man or woman.

Hand Me Downs” has a very British sound, with a nod to London’s Grime scene, the track’s evolved production is evocative of the energy and originality of The Streets, which has inevitably led to comparisons with Mr Skinner. In fact Mike Skinner was so blown away by Franko that he personally asked him to support his new outfit The D.O.T on tour; this source of support is usually followed by huge mainstream success – just ask Professor Green and Example.

Additional heavyweight support has come from the likes of Fearne Cotton and Huw Stephens at Radio 1. Other accolades include earlier track Watch How I’m Moving play-listed on Radio 1, playing The John Peel Festival Of New Music, and having the video for “Hand Me Downs” chosen for the BBC Music Video Festival (alongside the likes of Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and Will Young) and shown across the UK on the notorious BBC ‘Big Screens’. Not bad for an unsigned artist.

Having gained support from Radio 1 and 1Xtra off the back of a BBC Introducing campaign, Franko Fraize hopes to continue the momentum and have a great 2013. “Hand Me Downs” is taken from Franko’s forthcoming album ‘Work Ethic‘ – set to be released in Spring 2013.
