Editorial: The End Of Police Brutality [#JusticeForMichaelBrown]

Now that I have your attention, let me share my thoughts with you. Ever since unarmed Black teen Michael Brown was murdered by police in Ferguson, Missouri last week, everybody all over America from the citizens to the media have been in a big uproar about racism, the violation of civil rights, & law enforcement abusing their power because they feel they can among other things. But in between the arguments, the outrage, & the frustration, where are the solutions???

Arguments, outrage, & frustration can only go so far when no solutions ever result from either situation. And not just Mike Brown, justice should be served for every innocent & unarmed Black man that’s murdered by police because of the color of their skin. Now first & foremost, in order to put an end to police brutality, cops have to be held responsible for every wrong move they make. As long as cops can walk away from every wrong doing caused by them, police brutality will continue to be an issue in the Black community in particular.

Besides holding the police accountable for their actions, police departments all around the world have to change their arrest policies as most of them put Black people (whether their good or bad) in the worse light possible. In addition to policing the police, governments all over the world have to change their racist law system that once again puts Black people (in particular) in the most negative light possible. To bring it on home, the media needs to change the way they represent Black people as well as other minorities.

Those are my solutions of how we can put an end to police brutality. Because unless these solutions are enforced & put to good use, police brutality will continue to be an issue in the Black community in particular. If there are any other solutions you can offer to end police brutality, you are more than welcome to offer them below.
